Digestive system💩

Date: 11th Mar 2021 @ 2:49pm

Year 6 have been learning about the digestive system. They have made their own digestive system by using coco pops and pancakes in a bowl the replicating the chewing motion by using their hands to mulch it all together. They added saliva (water) and then used a ziplock bag as the stomach. In the stomach, acid (coke) and digestive juices and bile (water and food colouring) were added and then it was churned up to look like partially digested food. This was then transferred into the small intestine (pair of tights) where as much liquid as possible was squeezed out to replicate the process of osmosis where the nutrients are absorbed into the blood stream. The remaining waste material - commonly known as poo was then squeezed out into a Petri dish. Digestion complete! 💩
