WELCOME TO YEAR 4

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child as we begin an exciting new school year in Year 4. It is a pleasure to introduce myself as your child’s class teacher alongside Mrs Kazmierczak. We are looking forward to working with you and your child, and I am confident that together, we will make this a successful and memorable year.
This year, your child will experience a wide range of learning opportunities that will challenge them academically, socially, and emotionally. My goal is to create a positive, supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued, motivated, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I believe that every child brings unique strengths and talents, and I am excited to nurture their growth throughout the year.

This year, your child will take part in swimming lessons every Tuesday as Moss Side Leisure Centre. Please ensure that your child comes to school with the correct swimming kit and towel. We will also have a PE lesson on Thursday therefore your child must come to school in PE kit and appropriate footwear.

Your child will receive a list of spellings every Monday to practise at home ready for the spelling test which will take place on Friday. Sometimes, your child will be given piece of English and maths homework on Friday. This should be handed back in by Wednesday at the latest. The purpose of this is to consolidate learning from lessons that week.

Towards the end of the year, each child will complete a multiplication table check. Each child is expected to know up to 12x12 by this time. We will focus on this within class but you should aim to consolidate and practise these at home too.

Strong communication between home and school is vital to your child's success, and I am committed to keeping you informed and involved in their learning journey.

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions, concerns, or if there is anything I can do to support your child's development. Together, we can make this a wonderful year for your child.
